testimonials

We could not fault your selection of accommodation for us – all so different and each with their own charm – difficult to say which we enjoyed the most although ending at Birkenhead House was such a treat. Janis Sinton & Jim Brown UK (February 2018)
An all-round superb experience handled with professional advice and Brigitte’s knowledge ensured our safari went beyond expectation. Excellent. We can highly recommend Wide Africa. Peter & Judith Hunt, USA (November 2017)
"I've known Brigitte for over 15 years and in that time she's organised 9 safaris in 4 countries for me. All details were meticulously planned and all the trips exceeded my high expectations. Communication and customer service is always first class. A wonderful organisation to be recommended to all serious, animal loving travellers in Southern Africa." Jonathan Neville, Norfolk, England
"Thank you Brigitte for putting together a trip of a lifetime. We had dreamed about coming to Africa, but what we experienced far surpassed our wildest dreams. The success was in the planning ..." Dan & Anna Soss, New York, USA
"Just home and we had one of the best holidays ever and we both have had many. Well done - the lodges were amazing as were the game and we thought the guides and trackers amazing especially Spencer and Bowman.  Tracking wild dogs and seeing so many wonderful animals. I will have no problem recommending your company." Mary Bathurst, Suffolk, UK
"Brigitte’s in-depth knowledge, stemming from her visits to most recommended destinations and Midas touch shines through when she creates our family holidays throughout Africa!  Would highly recommend Wide Africa to anyone who is seeking great service, attention to detail and wanting a little extra from their holiday." Marius & Ronell Van Rooyen, Cape Town, South Africa
"Brigitte, what a fantastic trip.  Thank you so much for the most amazing experience.  You understood exactly what we wanted and delivered the dream trip we wished for,  where every detail was taken care of as we moved from camp to camp.  The attention to detail was excellent, and nothing was left to chance.  We shall most definitely be back." Angela Sykes, Hong Kong
You are a delight! I've figured out by now that what makes a great experience on vacation isn't the city, the mountain, the vineyard, or the chocolate (yum!), but the people you experience along the way to all these things. You've made our time in Cape Town exceptional! It was an honor crossing your path. Perhaps we shall again one day. Brigitte - thank your for an excellent well-executed trip with well-chosen destinations and specialist guides – who made our journey so thoroughly enjoyable. I don’t know that we can thank you enough for your efforts. Your planning, coordination and scheduling gave us the experience of a lifetime! The locations, the service and support provided were exceptional! I will, and have been, referring you to anyone I talk to about this trip. Every detail happened smoothly with no "glitches" along the way. Phenomenal! Neil & Cheryl Taylor
Brigitte organized a one month long trip for us, including Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa. Living in Canada and dealing with Wide Africa was no problem at all. Between emails and the odd phone call, Brigitte was able to put together a fantastic trip for us. Seven different top of the line lodges, a 3-night Rovos Rail train journey and the Cape Grace in Cape Town. Given that 6 of the 7 lodges were fly in only, and that we were travelling in what should have been the rainy season (we only had one day of rain in 30), we were initially concerned that something along the way would go wrong. However, all details of the trip were planned meticulously. A plane was always on time to pick us up in remote locations and transfer us to the next fantastic lodge, with one pilot even having to buzz a group of elephants to get off the ‘runway’. Botswana lodges were the highlight – sitting with a pack of wild dogs fighting over a baby impala carcass and then following the pack on the run for about an hour; sitting next to the carcass of a big antelope that had just been killed by two leopards and watching (both us and the leopards) the carcass being torn apart by 4 hyenas; sitting in the midst of about 70 elephants who were bathing, a few getting stuck in their mud wallows, one elephant submerged with only his trunk up out of the water like a periscope; sitting with numerous lazy lion groups, seeing a lion couple mating and driving along with lions on the hunt; turning a corner only to be charged by a rhino who came very very close to ramming the truck; following huge groups of cape buffalo (maybe 1000) and zebra (100); and coming across virtually every other animal that you’d expect to see on safari, including a couple of cheetahs; two wild elephants eating leaves within touching distance of our balcony; having baboons use our roofed ‘tent’ as a trampoline; having a sundowner where the Abu Camp manager had a rug and two big sofas placed in front of a water hole out in the wilderness, a bartender, full bar and appetizers brought out there for our enjoyment. Incredible scenery and landscape in Namibia. Watching a crocodile eat the bone remains of an animal; hiking in giant red sand dunes, hot air balloon ride, visiting the native Himba people, helicopter ride over Victoria Falls, tuxedoed waiters serving dinner on the Rovos Rail, wine tasting in Stellenbosch, and much much more – it was all fantastic. You can definitely count on Brigitte for a truly wonderful once-in-a-lifetime trip! We shall be back! Josslyn Latos & Gordon Graham, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
An amazing introduction to South Africa. Although it was a short trip, we cannot thank you enough for your invaluable assistance, great ideas and detailed planning, which set the scene for a totally new experience. We will definitely be back and look forward to planning our next journey to Africa. Richard & Alice Hogg
